The experimental teaching of West China stomatology originated in 1917, coinciding with the earliest stomatological education in China.In 1984, in order to address the many drawbacks of decentralized management of teaching experimental courses under various research departments, the college formally established a teaching laboratory directly under its leadership. This laboratory undertakings experimental teaching tasks at different levels for all research departments and became the only directly-administered and unified teaching center laboratory at the college level among stomatological colleges nationwide.
